ABOUT GANU GII CREATIONS

Untitled (T Shirt) (10).png

Yaama! My name is Natasha Weribone and I am a proud First Nations woman of the Gamilaraay Nation, and the soul behind Ganu Gii Creations and the Nan & Me children’s book series.

Ganu Gii means “ALL HEART” in Gamilaraay Language (pronounced GA-NOO-GEE) — and everything I create is made with purpose and from the heart.

As a proud First Nations author, artist, and educator, my mission is to create meaningful resources that uplift, inspire, and bring people together. My work focuses on books and educational materials that honour language, culture, and Country, while supporting both children and educators to learn in respectful and inclusive ways.

I have worked closely with early learning centres, supporting cultural inclusion and education through hands-on projects. One highlight was leading a collaborative Aboriginal art project at Highlands Kindy and Early Learning, where I worked with children and educators in every room to create artworks that now hang proudly on the centre’s walls.

In addition to my creative and business journey, I have proudly volunteered as a member of the NAIDOC Committee in Toowoomba, helping to plan and deliver local events that celebrate and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.

In recognition of my ongoing work and leadership, I was named NAIDOC Trainee of the Year in 2022 and selected as one of the Top 25 Most Influential First Nations People in the region that same year. In 2023, I was also a finalist in the Southern Queensland Landscapes and University of Southern Queensland’s First Nations Art Competition for my acrylic artwork “Beauty in Darkness,” which reflects the depth and resilience of our history.

I believe in the power of unity, storytelling, and cultural education. Whether it’s through my children’s books or First Nations learning resources, every creation is made to honour our Ancestors while empowering the next generation.

Ganu Gii Creations is proudly Supply Nation registered, standing as a trusted First Nations business committed to cultural integrity and community impact.

Thank you for supporting Ganu Gii Creations. Together, we are stronger.

Ganu Gii Creations would like to acknowledge the Traditional Peoples of the lands in which we live, breathe and create. We pay our Respects to our Elder's past, present and extend that respect to all First Nations peoples. We recognise the connection that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands, water ways and skies, a bond that has existed for tens of thousands of years. And thank our Ancestors for maintaining this beautiful land we call home. May Lore and Culture Indelibly Live On.
